Jamie Lynn's Journey to Mindfulness
My journey to mindfulness began at the tender age of twenty. When I tired of the Madison party scene, I found myself with a wealth of new and challenging emotions. I discovered yoga, which calmed my nervous system and my mind.
In 2008, when I had my first daughter, I became curious about how to further facilitate mental wellness and emotional regulation. I discovered that practicing mindfulness helped to create a sense of balance in my mental and emotional life. I also began to see that I could influence my daughter’s mental and emotional well-being by taking care of my own.
My journey led me further into applied mindfulness, including Mindful Self-Compassion and Positive Neuroplasticity training. I found that mindful self-compassion practices made it easier for me to face and integrate the difficult emotions and experiences of life. This was complemented by positive neuroplasticity training, which enabled me to “grow the good” and more fully soak in the beautiful moments of life.
I currently offer a host of classes and private trainings to facilitate a healthy mind. The path to well-being includes mindfulness, yoga, self-compassion, communicate-to-connect and positive neuroplasticity training for both adults and children. I believe that all of us can learn to be happy and whole—one strategy, one breath, one moment at a time.
