Please read the below parent agreement. You must click "I agree," in order to proceed to the payment page and reserve a spot for you and your teen in the upcoming Making Friends with Yourself training.
You will need access to a free Zoom account to participate. https://zoom.us/
If a computer or tablet is available in a secure, private location, we recommend using it rather than a phone. We strongly recommend using a secure, password-protected internet connection to promote privacy and a sense of safety and comfort in our online classroom. Similarly, recording classes is not permitted. Audio recordings of the practices will be provided for use outside of class.
Please note that there are no refunds for parent-teen classes. If you have to miss a live-online class session, you will be give 24 hour access to a recorded video of the class session that you missed.
Parent-teen pairs who choose the video-only option for this training will have access to a website with recorded videos of the parent-teen class. You will have access to recordings at the same pace as the live-online class (one session each week), and you are encouraged to submit weekly feedback to help you and your teen stay on schedule for the duration of the course.
Please choose a space for you and your teen to participate in class sessions that is private and quiet--a space where you and your teen are the only ones present so that you will be able to get the most out of the class.
Self-compassion can have the paradoxical effect of both soothing and comforting as well as opening us up to emotional distress that we may have been unconsciously holding inside. Therefore, some difficult emotions may surface for you and/or your teen during or after our sessions as we grow our capacity to embrace and heal them. Jamie Lynn will strive to provide an environment that is safe and supportive for you and your teen, and you are encouraged to participate in class activities to the degree that feels right for you.
While this training has therapeutic value, it is not a therapeutic intervention designed to treat mental health, behavioral or medical conditions nor is it a substitute for one. If you and/or your teen is working with a therapist or other clinician, please discuss participation in this program with that professional.
