Please read the below parent agreement. You must click "I agree" in order to reserve a spot for your teen in the upcoming Path to Resilience training.
You will need access to a free Zoom account to participate. https://zoom.us/
If a computer or tablet is available in a secure, private location, we recommend using it rather than a phone. We strongly recommend using a secure, password-protected internet connection to promote privacy and a sense of safety and comfort during our online sessions. Similarly, recording classes is not permitted. We will provide audio recordings of the practices for your teen's use outside of class.
Please have your teen choose a space that is private and quiet--a space where your teen is the only one present and will be able to focus in order to show respect to classmates and get the most out of class.
Mindfulness and self-compassion can have the paradoxical effect of both calming and comforting as well as opening us up to emotional distress that we may have been unconsciously holding inside. Therefore, it is possible that difficult emotions could surface for your teen during or after our sessions as he/she grows in his/her capacity to mindfully embrace them. Jamie Lynn will strive to provide an environment that is safe and supportive for your teen.
While this training has therapeutic value, it is not a therapeutic intervention designed to treat mental health, behavioral or medical conditions nor is it a substitute for one. If your teen is working with a therapist or other clinician, please discuss participation in this program with that professional.
